Figured I'd start one of these as I'm likely to continue poking around and doing addon stuff for ArmA 3.

Please note: any ArmA 2 carry over work comes with the label: Until ACE does it better.

 

First order of business.

 

M16A4 (Testing)

A port of the ArmA 2 M16A4,ammunition and magazines configured to work as closely to the ACE2 ones as possible.

At the risk of being a cunt, we have images displaying 1 weapon with 3 different weapon sights on them, one of which has not been released in MLOD format. One of the aforementioned addons specifically references to the weapon sights as individual items without a weapon term being attached. Conclusion, the aforementioned weapon uses the new system for attachments, this conclusion could be more easily arrived at by downloading and trying the damned thing.

 

Yes, it uses the new attachment sysem.

It does look good, realy the modding comunity will finish this game the way we want, instead of the way they want

Don't know why I haven't ran on this thread before, cause that is pretty amazing stuff Toad.

We are getting a first glimpse at the way the modularity of weapons and units is gonna shape the ArmA 3 addons landscape.

At the risk of being a cunt, it is quiet difficult to test/view an addon if you don't own Arma 3...

Oh nice! So are they fully functional with the new A3-Engines features? Are they just ported 1:1 or are the modified with better textures and stuff?

And most importantly (for me personally); Is the firemode-selection-switch working and showing the actual selected firemode? (New function of A3)

Fully functional, yes as stated earlier in the thread.

With minor model changes yes, want better textures? Make them yourself, with the exception of the MP5 most of the ArmA 2 textures have held up relatively well in the key areas.

Really, that's your most important concern with a weapon addon? Where the texturing of the model allows for it to be done without looking like ass it has already been or is scheduled to be done.

A series of rather unfortunate events has resulted in the loss of most of my project files and as such a lot of the above is unlikely to see daylight.

However, I've just finished a couple of config tweaks to aircraft weapons. in particular mini-gun dispersion and rates of fire.

6.5mm Minigun Dispersion and ROF Tweak Addon
Change: Increased Dispersion of miniguns found on: Ghosthawk and Orca
Change: Corrected ROF to 2000rpm on miniguns found on: Ghosthawk and Orca
 

M134 7.62mm Minigun Dispersion, Damage and ROF Tweak Addon
Change: Increased Dispersion of miniguns found on: AH-9 Pawnee

Change: Corrected ROF to 2000rpm and 4000rpm on miniguns found on: AH-9 Pawnee
Change: Corrected ammunition used by the weapons (Previous ammunition applied 3x the damage of standard 7.62mm ammunition)

In the works: Minimi 5.56 and 7.62 variants.

This will acompany a tweak to the default kit of the factions: AAF will use the FN Minimi instead of the MK200 6.5mm LMG, NATO will have the Mk200 transferred to their ARs. This will be done as an optional config tweak/side addon.
