To live, understand, and have fun...
  1. Nahh, not a big overclocking person. Might try and do SOME, but normally I leave things out of the box and stuff. I just don't have the time to tweak and test and tweak and test... I just need something that preforms well out of the box.
  2. So yeah since my desktop has decided to be possessed and well wont allow me to boot to the OS... I am going to be in the market of building a new PC. Now last PC I built was the one I currently have and I did that back in ohh 2009. So with that.... just some basic questions... I have been out of the know of the different processors out there, so with the idea of needing a PC for Gaming and for work (mainly enough to open a VPN and then RDP into tons of servers and stuff, which I can really do from my laptop)... With all the different CPU's out there, what would be a good one to go with these days? As I was using http://pcpartpicker.com/ just to price out a system I read somewhere that a 4 core CPU is better for gaming then say a 6+ core CPU... Is that true? I guess me being old school, the more power the better... But yeah need to find a good CPU for the price that will hopefully last me for the next ohh 8 years or so. I don't need/want the top-of-line since whenever I get something like that well it becomes bottom of the line on me really quick. The CPU in my desktop that has decided to be a pain is a: Intel Core i7-920 Bloomfield Quad-Core 2.66 GHz LGA 1366 130W BX80601920 Processor which I bought in 2009 and I swear was close to top-of-line at the time just wasn't the fastest and it has been a great little processor for a long time... So yeah for now I just want to try and determine which CPU would be good for me. So nerds and geeks out here... let me have it, what would you recommend?
  3. So threw new PSU in... Same thing on both 285 and 750.... Yeah I don't, just going to price out a new system I guess and maybe see about RMA the 750.
  4. I don't remember anymore... I think I am me, I hope....
  5. Yeah... going to go pick up a smaller one (currently I have a Antec TruePower Quattro TPQ-1000 1000W)... just going to replace it with a simple CORSAIR CX series CX750M 750W .... Going to go pick it up today and see if that helps.
  6. Well I don't know what has killed my PC but here are my symptoms... Couple weeks ago I enabled the LED Visualization, rebooted... The system boots I see the first Windows 7 rainbow loading, but when it hsould be displaying the desktop screen it is giving me "No signal" I can boot to safe mode, uninstall the drivers, reboot using the basic drivers from the OS and then NVIDIA drivers get installed and the same thing happens. Thinking ok maybe something in registry, safe mode, removed drivers and deleted every NVIDIA entry in the registry... Same thing after the drivers are installed. OK fine, I wiped my entire system and reinstalled Windows. Drivers for NVIDIA get installed and same thing. Talked with NVIDIA and they said it sounded like my video card was failing. So if my video card is failing lets pull it, put my old GTX 285 back in just to get the OS working. Well I put the 285 in and nothing. I don't even get the post screen or anything. So I pulled that 285 and put the second 285 I have in and same thing... Screen stays completely blank on post and everything. I put the 780 back in and it at least shows the post, but still goes blank when the OS is supposed to be going. Now my machine is about 8 years old (built in in ohh 2008)... so it probably is time for a new one. Some things it could be, PSU might be dieing or the motherboard is finally taking a dump. I thinking more PSU as I think more through all of this, but yeah... so after my vacation I am taking in October I might be specing out a new desktop and get one built if I don't figure out what is going on before then. You got any idea's what might be going on?
  7. So yeah I haven't been on for awhile. Work is kicking my butt and well my desktop has decided to kick the bucket. So no PC that is strong enough to play any games right now. So yeah, that is where I am... still alive (not like anyone noticed I was missing), just taking care of business. Well see you all around the forums and online as soon as I can get PC working again.
  8. You know I am always up for a few games. Just wish I didn't JIP in so late on that last one.
  9. http://forums.unitedoperations.net/index.php/page/ArmA3/missionlist/_/livemissions/co8-swamp-search-v2-r303? End conditions are not kicking off. I have seen it where the entire objective has been cleared and the mission never ends. I have also seen it where the entire squad has been wiped out and the mission never ends. This is not a complete mission broken, but end conditions fail to kick off and has to be manually ended.
  10. http://forums.unitedoperations.net/index.php/page/ArmA3/missionlist/_/livemissions/co46-operation-choctaw-v2-r340? As soon as the QRF begin to spawn the mission becomes very un-playable for users due to it is spawning a TON of AI.
  11. Site you might want to try to make sure everything is good, maybe even find better prices... https://pcpartpicker.com/
  12. Yeah... Foxxy stay safe out there. My short time out there showed me there are some really crazy people out there and they are the one's we trust with guns. Just get your job done and come home safe dude.
  13. Personally I would like to see some major cities done. IE New York, San Fransico, etc... doesn't need to be exact model. Just some urban type environment where you have to watch your corners a ton more and maybe skyscrappers, or buildings with 6+ floors you have to clear. But that is just me
  14. Ohh I will get a collector's edition as soon as it is announced... I will admit I have FO3, and FO:NV for PS3, XBox 360, and PC. So yeah I am ok with getting multiple copies of the game :-)
  15. Well say good bye to my money I will be pre-ordering it this week/weekend.
