I love that this joke is still relevant. Makes my heart warm and fuzzy

Yep, there's a lot of resources in the mission making forum. If you have questions, don't hesitate to make a thread and ask.

This doesn't necessarily sound broken. Just because something is uncommon doesn't mean it's a bug. Just my 2 cents, I don't know the mission maker's intent.

Is it even possible to ignore the slot screen metagame? If the briefing tells you one thing, but you know for a fact that the circumstances are difference because you just saw all of the slots, is it possible to play as if you don't have that slot knowledge? Is it possible as the commander to not plan your mission around that meta?

What missions should we, as mission makers, prioritize?

UOTC and missions that aren't entirely comprised of special assets as Darkside suggests. -

I don't think the general skill level of the player base would allow for such a mission. -
Prepare for counter artillery battery.

Is the use of UPSMON in missions practical and/or even possible with the AI mod on the server?

From Rahmadi Rumble last night.

Thanks UOTC. I've learned a lot since I started playing here some 3-4 years ago.

Well written tutorial. Thanks for the effort Herbiie. One question I have is that whenever I made missions for A2, I always made them with the multiplayer editor (hosting a local server then launching the editor from the mission list) because I thought I read somewhere that it somehow helped with server-side scripts or something because you were testing on a [local] server as opposed to a SP mission? This was like a year or so ago that I picked the habit up. Is there any real difference?

It is VERY easy to use Zeus as 3D mission editor!

Do we know what exactly causes the desync? Or how to minimize it? -
I think COINOPS might be viable with Zeus.

Not sure if it's considered bad practice now, but I'm still using the same method as in ARMA 2 whereby I execute gear.sqf via the the unit's init line.

I'm not sure I've ever seen the community outright insult a mission maker for a poorly designed mission (doesn't mean it hasn't happened, just that I haven't seen it). In my opinion, when you're making missions, you can't just be making them for the community. You have to make them for yourself, too. I made a lot of missions for ARMA 2 because I enjoyed doing it. When I went about making a mission I made sure that, firstly, it was fun to me, and secondly, met the community's expectations of a "good" mission. Ignore the dicks, consider the critiques, and improve your missions.

Dang, this was going to be my post lol.

I've addressed this point already in a previous post, but I'm going to say that the 3:1 (again, from A2.. I haven't done much in A3) doesn't necessarily mean that 10 players are in contact with 30 enemies in one location at one moment. It could (and most likely would) be 10 players encountering 30 enemies over the course of a few separate objectives.

Speaking purely from a personal standpoint on how I went about making missions for A2.
