On the left side of the Calendar click "I'M ATTENDING" UOAF BMS Session 376 - Saturday [2019-3-16, 1800z] THEATER: NORDIC POLAR VORTEX v2.3 DOWNLOAD: MISSION DATA CARD Night Drop MISSION NATO airborne infantry forces will conduct a parachute assault during the night, seize two airfields near the FLOT at Kiruna, and capture strategic objectives within Tarendo. USAF F-16's will escort the assault forces, establish local air superiority at the dropzones, and interdict an enemy mechanized QRF. Bullseye for this operation is the NATO strongpoint at Gallivare.

On the right side of the Calendar click "I'M ATTENDING" UOAF BMS Session 374 - Saturday [2019-03-02, 1900z] THEATER: NORDIC POLAR VORTEX v2.3 OCA After the successful raid on the Vuojarvi Highway Strip, the opportunity to finish off the main forward Soviet airbases is at hand. Knock out Sondanklya airbase with JDAMs. Be aware that SA-17s were operating in the vicinity of Vuojarvi and remain a threat in the AO. No SEAD has been included in this package, so attempt to employ your weapons at maximum standoff. If the air picture is too heavy to make it to the target, expend all air-to-air weapons before returning to base.

  4. I think the new site is a great improvement. I like the larger, cleaner fonts. The calendar on the front page sidebar is a significant improvement. And creating and editing posts seems far less temperamental compared to the legacy forum. Great job, guys!
  5. Calendar needs approval after creation (may be a perms issue) Calendar event cannot be edited after created (may be a perms issue) The end date is still showing up even though it was checked off, on the calendar sidebar at https://unitedoperations.net/forums/ and in the URL display block (as above) It is unclear whether the time in a calendar is UTC or local time The calendar start date displays incorrectly on the calendar sidebar at https://unitedoperations.net/forums/

  7. UOAF BMS Session 373 - Saturday [2019-02-23, 1900z] THEATER: NORDIC POLAR VORTEX v2.3 RESERVE YOUR SLOT OCA The enemy air presence is extreme and the air picture is bleak. Continue putting pressure on the Russians by chipping away at their air bases to regain the initiative in the sky. The SAMs have largely been suppressed in this AO, so this mission will focus on getting a small flight carrying JDAMs in range to knock out the Vuojarvi Highway Strip. If the air picture is too heavy to make it to the target, expend all air-to-air weapons before returning to base. 8. On the right side of the Calendar click "I'M ATTENDING" SITUATION The picture above explains better than words the current situation. While Bluefor is struggling with the remaining 2.5 active airbases Redfor is playing good and bad weather all along the AO with multiple gorilla group strikes tasked to annihilate what's remaining of our bases. Today's task is a quite brave (desperate) multiple OCA strike deep in enemy territory trying to take out a cluster of 4 airbase hosting several fighters and attack squadrons GAMEPLAN 2 OCA strikes will be the main engine of this operation, attacking KOKKOLA, NIVALA, YLIVIESKA and RAAHE airbases 1 SEAD will sanitize the AO from the SA-10 threat 2 SWEEP will provide high cover in both A and B zone while the OCA will be performing their attacks Tasking (in take off order) SERPENT will fly to the AO and suppress any enemy radars SNAKE and SHARK will spearhead the 2 OCA providing air cover COWBOY will attack KOKKOLA and RAAHE PYTHON will attack NIVALA and YLIVIESKA http://forums.united...-2019-1-5-1900z
  9. On the right side of the Calendar click "I'M ATTENDING" SITUATION Russian forces have seized Finland with a lightning armoured attack. Record snowfall has disrupted supply lines and delayed the Russian offensive. A NATO regroup and counter-attack is currently underway. The joint efforts of the 331st FS (NoAF) and 23rd FS (USAF) in the last operation, have resulted in the airspace around the FLOT being clear of direct SAM and enemy air threats. We are now tasked with reducing Russian air power around the fjords of Northern Norway by striking the ALTA Airbase. THREAT ANALYSIS GROUND 1x SA-10 Battalion stationed on the ALTA Airfield. 2x Known SA-17 Battalions to the East and South of ALTA. Armored, Mech, & HQ battalions employ a variety of SA-19, Shilka, SA-13, SA-8, & towed AAA. Flight below 12k ft AGL in enemy territory is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. Package 7256 - Airstrike on Cairo The time has come to project our power directly onto Cairo and break the Egyptian's will to fight. The IADS around Cairo still have teeth, with one SA-6, one SA-2 and numerous SA-3s and SA-4s. These will be neutralized by two dedicated SEAD flights. Then two strikes will hit military targets in Zigazag, Bilbays and Cairo-proper. Primary targets are the Faqus Infantry CMD Post and Mubarak Bio-Chemical Plant (secondaries: Mechanized Assembly and Bilbay Power Plant) in the north and Egyptian Joint Staff HQ and the EAI Aircraft Parts Complex (secondaries: Cairo Weapons Depot and Cairo South Power) in the south. RAMROD1, a 4-ship BARCAP of F-15s will set up a defensive zone to the east of Cairo. A 4-ship of A-4Ms will hunt down SAM launchers on the eastern outskirts of Cairo. Intelligence suspect the Egyptians may marshal their last airforce reserves to defend the city once we start striking it. If that happens, fall back to the BARCAP in the east, eliminate the threat, and resume the mission if able. Stud1 4-ship F-16C - Obj. 14. Vietnam Robert Mason, Chickenhawk: an amazing book from the perspective of a pilot's career in the Huey through Vietnam. Marshall Mitchell, Clashes: Air Combat over North Vietnam, 1965-1972: the strategy and tactics of the air war in Vietnam from both sides. Cold War David Isby, Weapons and Tactics of the Soviet Army: a must read for any Cold War buff. Disects every part of the Soviet army and has lots of pictures.
